We have a Snowboarder

I had no idea that my Noah would be so interested in Snowboarding. Holly and Noah have been sharing a board for the past week. They have been having such a blast. So, on Black Friday Noah and I went to Menards and found him a BLUE snowboard. He says one day he is going to be on TV doing flips. I am not sure where he come up with that. For now, I will just make sure he doesn't drink any Redbull!

Most Thankful For….

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful Day 12

Sometimes it is the little things. Today we put up the "whole" Christmas tree. The story starts last year, when I purchased a 10 foot tree. I purchased it thinking the top branch could be folded down and fit in our 9 foot ceiling house. I was wrong. We ended up leaving out a section. A few weeks later, I came up with the idea of putting the 10 foot tree in the front hallway. I was hesitant because the tree's position would take away our main walkway. After a year of pondering the idea..... the tree is in place. And I LOVE IT!

Thankful (Day 10) Friends

Yeah! Tonight I had dinner with my "Favorite High School" friends. When Erin, Jessi and I get together it feels like no time has past. We always have great conversation. They are truly great friends and women. I am very thankful for them!

Thankful (Day 9)

It Snowed! I am so thankful that between hand-me-downs and last years winter gear, my kids have all they need to play outside! [caption id="attachment_509" align="alignnone" width="409" caption="A big snowflake by his mouth, cute none the less."][/caption]

Serendipity (Thankful Day 8)

Serendipity.....this is my favorite Word and also my favorite Movie. If you know me, you probably already know this. When Holly was little I always read her the book, Serendipity by Tobi Tobias. It explains Serendipity as, "putting a quarter in the gumball machine and having three pieces come rattling out instead of one- all red! I always watch the movie Serendipity to start off the Holiday season. Today is the day! The movie reminds me how much I love NYC, Christmas and also how much I believe in fate. My Grandma and Grandpa took me to Serendipity in 2001. I was 8 months pregnant with Holly. It was a cold day and we went all the way to Burnsville. As we were leaving the movie my Grandma told me I just needed to name the baby, Sarah because she was "serendipic" (not really sure if that is a real word). Although Sarah turned out to be Holly, going to Serendipity with my Grandparents really turned my feelings of single motherhood around. On that cold day I realized that THIS was my baby and I was getting the baby for  a reason. Because of the movie I have always wanted to visit Serendipity 3 and have there famous Hot Chocolate. I went to NYC in 2004, but never made it to the restaurant. But in true "fate" fashion, I finally got to Serendipity 3. It wasn't where or when I expected it but I made it! On the eve of my Grandmother's Death my family and I ate at Serendipity 3 in Las Vegas. It was newly opened and I didn't even know it existed. When we were there, I called my mom and told her to tell my Grandma where I was! I will always wish I could have spent my Grandma's last days with her but I know it was fate that she was only with her daughters and husband. Finding Serendipity during this time of pain reminded me why I love the Word and Movie Serendipity! Because it is all about you trusting yourself and the world working around your loyalty. I just hope my Grandma knows that by taking her unwed, pregnant Granddaughter to this movie, she set me on a new path of hope, love, trust and fate. I am so happy and thankful to be where I am today! One the Eve of my Wedding Scott gave me the book Love in the Time of Cholera with a note saying, "I am thankful for the present. The book from Serendipity is to remind you how lucky I am to have found you and fallen in love. If it was indeed fate that brought us together, I'm glad fate smiled on us." I will continue to let fate smile on me! "Serendipity is a word that, when you find out what it means, is as wonderful and surprising as it sounds." ~Tobi Tobias
